Prescriptions are far too expensive, people of 60+ are more likely to require them and are the least likely to be able to afford them. It’s a very bad idea.

Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland get free prescriptions, I am disgusted that England is the only part of GB that pay. Putting up the age for free prescriptions is dreadful and I oppose it and will never vote for the conservatives again.

Most people struggle to live and work as they get older. If the government start to charge for prescriptions this will deter those on lower incomes from seeking help with any medical problems they may have.

I will not vote for any MP who supports what amounts to an additional tax on those who often have less income and who have paid tax all their lives for this small benefit.

It is wrong, older people are being pushed further and further into the poverty trap. Pension age keeps being increased, no more free tv licenses, now prescriptions. Some people won’t be able to afford to pay for all their medications so will have to choose which is the most important and then may end up in hospital costing the NHS even more money. This has to be scrapped.

The public pays enough for NHS, medication, etc and still do not get what they’re fully entitled to. Leave the age of 60 as it stands for free prescriptions. People are struggling enough.

Why is it that Scotland and Wales can manage free prescriptions for ALL, yet in England, our government now want to increase the age to 66 before you can receive free prescriptions? In England, we will see more people being treated for more serious conditions because people were unable to afford their medication.

People over 60 are struggling to survive in the workplace. Women have had their pensions taken. This group are most likely to need medication to stay healthy and economically viable. It’s a tax on the old, again.

Before I retired I delivered medication for a pharmacy and the amount some people have there is no way that they would be able to afford them.

This should be means-tested and based on the current living wage limits so that you should be earning or have a pension higher than the Living wage set amount before you are asked to pay for prescriptions.

If people are sick long term after 60 they deserve free prescriptions. Why is the government so determined to make the pensioners pay for the problems the government has got us into?

I am on a low wage, I have rheumatoid arthritis & osteoarthritis. I would not be able to afford all the medication I need if I had to pay prescription charges.

Too many older people need this service and will not be able to afford the extortionate cost of medication. The government should deal with the abuse of the system rather than penalising the elderly.

Most 60-year-olds have worked since they were 15 and they have paid more than enough, some depend on medication for health issues.

The government are making it harder for families struggling already, people on disability who rely on medication will be worse off! This government should hang their heads in shame.
